"The Gun Club was formed by Jeffrey Lee Pierce, former head of the Blondie fan club in Los Angeles. By 1982, the band had signed to Blondie guitarist Chris Stein's Animal Records and temporarily relocated to New York to record their first major label album Miami. Following its success, the band recorded The Las Vegas Story (1984) which proved to be their most visionary and coherent record to date. Sonically, the band delivers heavy desert Rock, coloured by earthy slide guitars and primal rhythms - a unique blend of New Wave, Garage and Mod with a post-punk attitude. The Las Vegas Story benefited from an impeccable production, culminating in album highlights "Walkin' With The Beast", "Eternally Is Here" and "Give Up The Sum"."
