Unique, innovative electric guitar music. Gunnar Geisse comes out of the improvised music scene, but is also familiar with written contemporary classical music (he plays with several German radio symphony orchestras). For this recording Geisse has composed nine pieces for electric guitars - with over 200 different voices (!) in one of the movements - and played all of them track by track. The topics here are: reflections on time, structure and development; mass and individual; discreteness and continuity. Influenced by Sandro Bocola's view on Modern Art, Geisse subdivides the pieces into three sections: a red expressive, a green constructivist, and a blue symbolist one. The CD comes with an extraordinary punched-out cover design. (label info)
